POTATOMIKE ARTIST: SAM TUFNELL
"Part of my creative desire is to find new ways to convey traditional subject matter as well as my own childish motives to move against the art establishment. For me the figure will always be the ‘original sculpture’ and abstraction will always be its ‘rebel child’; however, both share a common thread with monumentality and public art." - Sam Tufnell
POTATOMIKE ARTIST: FABIAN ROOK
"It only becomes clear upon closer inspection that these pictures are not reproductions originating from a photographer’s camera during an actual trip. Instead of travelling the real world, I have traveled the world from my desktop. I put the spotlight on the image world of Google Street View by producing screenshots of my places of choice. Thanks to processing and montage work, I have created an aesthetic that references the specific picture strategies of American photographers like Joel Sternfed and Stephen Shore." - Fabian Rook
POTATOMIKE ARTIST: MARCO ZUMBÉ
Marco Zumbé’s work is formed at the point when the abstract line creates a real image for the viewer. Lines are the most important artistic elements in his drawings and paintings. He uses them to boldly fill empty spaces acting almost intuitively without any plan in mind. This automatic construction of lines is transferred onto transparent foil in layers.
